Mini-Grants
Towards a better and more vibrant community.
Lao Art Week is a commitment to empower local artists. The Mini-Grants for Lao Artists provide small but meaningful support to help artists explore, experiment, and realise new work. We believe that even with modest resources, bold ideas can emerge, giving artists the confidence to grow their practice and share their voices with wider communities.
These grants are available exclusively to Lao artists as part of our annual open call. They may be used not only for art production, but also to support workshops, talks, and other forms of creative engagement within the Lao Art Week programme.

What the Mini-Grants Cover?
Mini-grants are designed to support the creation and presentation of new work. Funds may be used for:
-
Purchase of materials and supplies
-
Tools or equipment rental required for production
-
Printing, installation, or fabrication costs
-
Venue-related expenses within Lao Art Week exhibitions
-
Workshops, talks, or community engagement activities (e.g., workshop materials, documentation)
What the Mini-Grants Do Not Cover?
Mini-grants are not intended to replace income or fund unrelated expenses. They will not cover:
-
Artist stipends or personal fees
-
International travel and accommodation
-
Purchase of permanent equipment (e.g., laptops, cameras)
-
Costs not directly related to the proposed project.
Please note: Stipends, international travel, and accommodation may be supported through separate mobility grant opportunities. Artists interested in mobility support can indicate this in their application, and the Lao Art Week team will advise on possible partnerships or funding schemes.
